An X-box Guitar and a Tesla Coil have been combined, what a combo!

This is a DRSSTC musical instrument. This unit is the first of its kind up for public sale, with a price of only $5,000. The sounds are created by bolts of lightning ripping through the air, up to 5ft in length, it is very loud.

This guitar would be great for raves, concerts or for anyone that wants to draw a big crowd of people and keep them awe-struck. I have one for myself too, and I love being able to interact with the lightning, you don't just watch the lightning, but you control its behavior. It's thrilling to play and it's the most alive musical instrument I have ever seen or played.

In the first video I quickly show how the frets/strum/pots/whammy works. In the second video I light up some neon lights and play a littel tune. In the third video I try my hand at some Metallica.

The Guitar and Tesla Coil come with a manual, which goes over operation and safely. The tower detaches for shipping and the total weight is less than 25 lbs. The Tesla coil is assembled with just one nut and bolt, and then it just needs to be plugged in and played.

The guitar is simple to operate, hold down a fret and then strum the guitar and BAMB you get lightning. But the controls are more advanced than they look, and are designed to give a full range of sounds at the musician's fingertips.

Each of the 5 frets has their own pot, so the pitch of each fret can be adjusted and tuned, like a normal guitar. Also each of the frets can be "mashed" down with one-another to create many combination frequencies.

There is also a whammy bar, which also works like a regular whammy bar, when it is pushed down it brings 4 out of the 5 frets into higher octaves. The orange fret is unaffected by the whammy bar and I call it the power fret.

Combination frequencies from mashing and the whammy bar work together to give the musician a surprisingly wide variety of notes.

The power fret has a wider range than the other 4 frets, this enables one to hold down the orange fret and then mash the other frets into higher states. Without seeing/doing the effect in person it's hard to explain, it's just more useful to not have one fret effect by the whammy.

The Guitar runs off a 9v battery and connects to the Tesla Coil via a 25ft long coaxial cable. The Tesla coil stands a bit over 5ft tall and runs of standard 120Vac 50/60Hz. The Topload is made with a 16" and 12" spun Al toroids and the teal/green secondary is 7" by 3ft.

I don't know what else to say. It speaks for itself really; this little guy welcomes musical instruments into the 21st century.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was one the finest experimental physicist the world has ever known. One of his inventions was the Tesla Coil. The Tesla Coil was originally meant for wireless transfer of electricity, which it does very well, without a doubt. Tesla founded many things, one of which being AC current, the antenna, he was known for generating large scale earthquakes that were centered at his basement! Upon his death in 1943 the United States government seized everything he owned, so not much is known about his latest work, but we are left with the many of his inventions. The Tesla Coil has to be the funnest of his inventions! Over the past 100 years the Tesla coil design that Nikola Tesla created stood unchanged, until now, solid state Tesla coils are the first improvement to his design. Tesla might have loved transistors ah?

Q:Why does it have a discharge electrode on top?

A:The Arcs are so big relative to its size the arcs would travel right down the secondary coil to the ground if it didn't have a discharge electrode to keep the sparks going up.
